If this site is real it’s disturbing..if it’s a publicity stunt it’s disturbing and in bad taste. It seems to be the diary of a young woman who has decided to kill herself in 90 day’s time (now 84).
I seem a bit Scientology-obsessed these days, but it’s actually just fascinating. There’s a South Park episode that explains the background, and apparently it’s pretty accurate.
This post on Gawker has snippets of some creepy Scientology videos. The video of Mr. Cruise’s acceptance speech (for the Scientology Medal of Valor) has been pulled off various sites due to ‘copyright infringement’ or some such bollocks, so watch this stuff while you can. There’s another one here that rates 10/10 on the creepy […]

That’s Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County in Arizona. Get busted drink driving and you will end up in a chain-gang wearing pink and burying deceased alcoholics. Now that’s a bit of law enforcement that has my wholehearted approval :) Not actually physically hurting somebody, but bringing the point home forcefully all the same… He’s also […]

Terry Pratchett has announced he’s got a rare form of early-onset Alzheimer’s. That really sucks - I absolutely love his books. However, as he says himself:
“PS I would just like to draw attention to everyone reading the above that this should be interpreted as ‘I am not dead’. I will, of […]

Joe Horn shot and killed two burglars who were breaking into the house next door - this is in Texas, natch. The video is the 911 call…I’m very impressed with the dispatcher who sounds like he deals with this kind of gung-ho idiot every day (and considering where it is maybe he does).
What I can’t […]
I see I’m not the only one skeptical about that Peace Prize - BlimpTV has this take on the matter, and the Metafilter community seems to agree.
Al Gore has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (ok, jointly with some institution, but still). To be honest, I’m surprised (and mildly disappointed) that the Nobel committee seems to have jumped on the green bandwagon. Saving the environment, stopping global warming…all important stuff, but how much has Gore actually achieved for these goals in […]
Well, I read that Airbus has delivered the first A380 - that thing is absolutely massive. Quite ingenious to see how they put it all together…looks like there’s even somebody to watch paint dry on it (candidate for worst job in the world!). The Airbus site has a Flash animation showing what it will be […]
